FOR THE 2008 SESSION OF THE BIKE RACE:

We are looking for any AUX MEDICAL personnel, AUX Firefighters,
and welcome any CERT TEAMS or GMRS users in the Polk County Area
that want to get involved in the event. The 2008 Application form
will be posted once we have it on hand. We are looking at a turn
out of 1800 PLUS people this year... Last year was a record breaking
1623 riders, the committee is looking at close to 2,000 this year.
We will need help at the following places...

Rest Stop Communicators; UHF radio setup, 15+ watts preferred.
*SAG Rovers (capable of hauling 4+ people and bikes)
Commodities Communicators (riding with and assisting with supplies)
*Chase Vehicles (able to assist with on the road bike repairs also)
*Tail End Charlie: bringing up the rear of the pack!!!

*: SAG, Chasers, and TEC, would be nice to have mobile/portable APRS
set up for tracking so the Net Control Station will be able to see where
you are along the course.

The NI4CE 442.950 Polk County Site, and N4HHR 444.100
will be linked for this event, more information as it comes
available.
